We offer every level of service from design only to complete turnkey, In this project example we share some of our process for a major redesign in which the kitchen was relocated to another part of the property.
Our client was introduced to us through a friend of theirs who we have enjoyed working for, which is always a great start as they knew that we would be able to deliver the kind of result they were looking for.
THE BRIEF
Our client asked us to come up with a design that would integrate the kitchen and dining room and introduce an island. Also on the wish list was a Kaelo Plus wine cooler and Quooker Cube. The existing kitchen opened out to a sitting area, but the dimensions of the space meant that an island would have caused an obstruction rather than creating the open, flowing feeling that you like to feel an island will bring you.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
We worked with our client to come up with the best configuration of units for their needs and ended up with a plan that involved moving the kitchen into what had previously been the dining room, blocking up a doorway and a window, removing a fireplace, removing a wall and replacing it with steel beam and supports and relocating the electrics and plumbing.
With all out quotes we carefully work out all the costs beforehand to be sure that the client is fully aware of the expenses involved. With several years of experience in kitchen and bathroom renovations we often find it necessary to ask an electrician to examine the existing electrics for safety and suitability for modern appliances before finalising the quote.
Once the design of the kitchen and utility furniture was finalised we were alble to order the Keller cabinets and put plans in place to begin the building work a couple of weeks before they were due to arrive.
