Please just see the 'before' images below to grasp just what a transformation took place in this 3rd floor apartment.
The first thing to mention must be the ceiling as being concrete and with only one central light we had to install a suspended ceiling so we could fit the many spotlights but the original ceiling was already very low so we sourced very slim profile lights that didn't need transformers so the new ceiling only needed to be 35mm lower; phew, the tall cabinets just fitted!
Then there were no fewer than 3 layers of ceramic tiles to take off as a result of previous short cut make-overs over the years.
An internal (non structural) wall was removed and replaced with glazed bi-folds so allowing the glorious sea views and the evening sunsets to be seen from the kitchen for the very first time.
The customer wanted minimal clutter and simple lines even to the degree of removing sockets from the walls and having pop-up sockets set flush in the worksurfaces instead which is easily done when the worktops are Corian. As with with the sharks nose leading edge detail and the inconspicuous corner joints and seamlessly jointed sink, Corian is so versatile.
Behind the closed doors are an integrated fridge, a freezer and dishwasher of course - a washing machine and a pull out waste and recycling bin section; its all in there somewhere.
Other works we undertook whilst in the apartment were to change 7 internal doors, remove a fireplace from the lounge and skim plaster a number of rooms. We truly were a one stop shop for this customer who was fortunate to be a motorhome owner and so able to take off for 3 weeks and leave it to us.
