A great deal of hard work went into this project because the first discovery we made upon removing the old bathroom was the base to an original fireplace on an angle of 45 degrees across the corner of the room exactly where the walk in shower was to go. So of course it had to be removed and then substantial timber joists inserted in its place to support the new flooring. Undaunted but two days later than anticipated we went on to install this stunning period bathroom with its brilliant white metro tiles with colonial ceramic skirtings and porcelain wood grain plank tiled floors.
The period style soaking tub, sanitaryware, furniture, brassware, valves & radiator are made by Burlington.
There isn't really such a thing as a 'period' shower enclosure so rather than compromise the aesthetics with something modern we constructed a pillar to house the shower controls and had a walk in wet-room shower.
We had period plaster mouldings made to join the ceiling to the walls as they would have been in the 1900's and the clients sourced the reproduction period wallpaper for our decorators.
Quality products and workmanship at this level do come at a price and what we offer should not be confused with the TV adverts showing Victorian bathrooms for a few thousand pounds - a typicle project like this one needs a budget of between £20k - £25k and can take between 7 to 10 working days to complete.
