Every kitchen presents a challenge and this one was no exception. Previously the units had been wrapped around the room sailing across the 2 windows with their low sills and with a jutting peninsular as a way of creating more worksurface but really just causing an unused corner and blocking freedom of movement. Enter Keller......lets clear the walls and create an island and why don't we hang 94 kilos of bespoke horizontal steel beams from that timber A frame so we have somewhere to suspend some overhead units from and then use 3mm steel cables to create fine adjustment and create stability. And (this was the customer idea) lets block off the 2metre corridor to the kitchen from the hall to create a walk-in larder pantry and lets knock a new opening through from the lounge. And whilst we are doing that why not create a niche big enough for a radiator? So we did.
