This is another project where we feel the photgraphs don't do the installation justice as its such a small area measuring just 3.0M x 2.4M.
But we've been very creative in the use of the space available by taking away the doorway into the kitchen (where you now see difused glass partitioning with wine racks and shelves) and converting it from being a galley kitchen by removing the long side that was a barrier to getting to the dining room without going out and around......and despite opening it up for better access we have managed to get an integrated washer/dryer and dishwasher either side of the sink, there is an integrated freezer beneath the eye level oven and the 90cm x 90cm island contains refrigerator drawers, a wine chiller cabinet and a bin store.
And a bonus of all this work is that now the kitchen cannot be seen or heard from the lounge!
The doors and drawers are finished in a synthetic gloss clay colour, the worksurfaces are Corian Grey Onyx and feature details like seamlessly jointed coved upstands and inconspicuous joints on the corner and a seamlessly jointed Corian white sink with recessed drainer grooves. The striking merlot wine coloured glass splashbacks set it all off a treat.
The clients adore it and the lady of the house who rarely if ever bothered to cook in her old kitchen had it pointed out to her by her husband a short while ago that she hadnt bought a take-away or gone out for a meal in over three weeks.........so really getting into using and enjoying it which is what it should be all about! And, they need never boil a kettle again as the have the wonderful Quooker Hot Tap for boiling hot water on tap 24/7.
