This attractive property set in the heart of Lytham with its courtyard garden viewed through modern but 'period style' Crittall Windows is a delight but with the kitchen being centre stage between the front and back lounges there was a very fine balance to be achieved between effective storage and work space but with ample room for to-ing and fro-ing.
The room was a little too wide for a typical galley style kitchen yet not wide enough for an island in the true sense of the word with bar stools so the island you see is just off the back wall enough to allow a series of six 45cm base unit doors to open so allowing extra storage, the island itself is 95cm wide and that leaves and effective walk through of 150cm but close enough to the hob and oven to work effectively. We deliberately kept the island length the same as a slab of quartz so we wouldnt have to have a join anywhere. (A pet hate)
The handle-free units are finished in white gloss with a quartzstone worksurface. We sourced an AEG left hand hinged oven as we felt it would work better in the space than the more common drop down type. The tap is the 3 in 1 Quooker Boiling Hot Tap.
We think you'll agree that this minimal Keller kitchen bathed in light from the Crittall windows and skylights makes for a very nice environment in which to work. Please click on any image to enlarge.
